Ron Cardilico, the first guy that made me talk a bit louder than usual. I had to in order to project my words in his brain since he was not comprehending. He was a retired lawyer that did financing now and he wanted to set his new HP Notebook so it would be the most convenient for financing. I turned it on to only realize he bought it from PC Richard and it was under someone’s administration instead of Mr. Cardilico being the admin of his own computer. I asked him if he had to set up an account when he first bought it and he said no. I then knew that even though he told me the Notebook was completely brand new and it came in brand new packaging that it had previously been accessed before by someone else. There were also some restrictions on the Notebook and stated that it was under the control of some organization. I gave him this analogy: “you have the student computer and not the principal computer while you should have the principal computer.” He finally understood that he should be the admin of his own Notebook and there was something wrong from where he got it. Then he was scared to make any changes to the Notebook or even use it so I turned it off and taught him the main thing he wanted to learn on the laptops provided at the Senior Center. He wanted to know how to hyperlink any link and email it to someone. He mainly wanted to email funny videos to his friends. So, I went on YouTube and showed him how to copy and paste the URL to his email. He was very confused on how the URL ENDED UP IN THE URL BAR. I had to explain to him five times that every website on the internet has its own unique URL and the URL automatically ended up there; “how did you drag that in the URL bar???” was his question. It was an amazing session at the end. P.S. He said he would go to PC Richard and get it fixed and come back to me the Tuesday before the holiday break.
