I had gotten 6 hours of sleep the previous night so I was very very tired today. I was sleeping in the car on my way to the senior center after school today but when I got there, I started typing my research paper and I was still tired while waiting for my clients to show up. Yes, clients. A husband and a wife… I thought that was unorthodox but it genuinely went great since I was looking forward to it. By the end of the session, I was so wide awake that my tiredness completely went away and my rest of the day continued like normal. Ron and Debora were both already decently fluent with their Motorola android phone and their iPad. They had Consumer Cellular service which is specially designed to target seniors and they change up the software of the phones in order to make the phones more senior-user friendly. They did not have a list written but the wife, Debora, had a list embedded in her brain and plus, they were taking turns asking me questions. The session actually really lasted 40 mins since they already knew how to do the basic things and use their devices. Anyways, the first thing they both needed help with was attaching photos in messages and then sending them. After that, they asked more messaging related questions and the husband wanted to know how to change the home and lock screens. He said, “I have done this before but I forget how I did it.” The wife laughed and said, “we do things and we forget how to do them.” We all laughed together then for about 2 seconds. Finally, Debora wanted to know how to scroll back to letters (in the middle of them) like she could using the left and right arrow keys on a keyboard on a pc. The session ended but it was really good. I have so far had 2 amazing sessions in one week.
