After being sick for basically almost 3 weeks and having to delay an appointment with my client for 2 weeks while I really wanted to help her with her brand new iPhone 5s. I finally got better and sickness went away and then I was able to meet her today. Her name was Marge McKay and I am telling you right now that I have not met a senior nicer than her as of yet. I feel like female seniors judge me the way they look at me but this one did not and I made sure she got help on everything she need help on. She arrived at 3:45PM so we were able to get an extra 15 mins and I made every single second count. I genuinely just felt like pouring my heart out to her and her implausible kindness. Even right now as I am typing this, I am just typing with so much intensity to just let my thoughts and enthusiasm out. Mrs. McKay basically did not know how to do anything on her iPhone 5s besides turn it on and off. She had a list of around 12 questions that she wanted to ask me and we had fun figuring out each one of the questions and teaching her. This was also the most fun session I have had as of yet. We started off with her wanting to know how to erase single letters of her contacts’ names. She said, “every time to try to erase a letter, I end up erasing the entire word [laughing].” Then I showed her what she called the “box with the x” which is really just the backspace button on phones in general. She did not understand the cellular data stuff so I had to explain it to her and about Wi-Fi too. She at first called Wi-Fi “weefee” and after I said it correctly, she automatically picked it up. I do not like to correct seniors on their mispronunciations because I just feel as if I do not have the right to since they are older than me and I feel like I will be disrespecting them if I did correct them. Anyways, we ended the session by me setting up her apple id…. Which should have been the first thing I should have done but I did not want to sort of break her chain of questions. Anyways, I had a headache which went away as the session continued and I was fine after…. Best session as of yet.
